Chris Rempel started his journey as an entrepreneur when he was 19, starting a skateboard manufacturing company called "CR Longboards" (short for Chris Rempel Longboards).

About a year into manufacturing longboard skateboards, Chris modified his marketing approach by using a variety of techniques to build a sort of "community" around his product. This caused a rapid influx of business - which was met by an unprepared business model with no real ability to manage that sort of volume.

The "longboard" business quickly began to collect back-orders, and subsequently, the online orders had to be stopped. Production ceased altogether shortly after, and Chris decided to cut his losses and pause the longboard business for the time being. (It simply wasn't a profitable - or scalable - business to pursue...)

He went on to a much larger "playing field" - internet marketing. Starting with what he knew best, he decided to build a site based around longboards, called Longboard Directory. Using a unique approach to marketing, and leveraging his current contacts by trading free listings in exchange for cross-promotion, the site quickly escalated to become one of the top 3 or 4 sites regarding the topic in under 3 months.

(These would be Chris's first "JVs", so to speak...)

He would go on to develop a variety of other sites and online projects. Some were successful, while others were disastrous.

Along the way, he indirectly became a consultant to various companies as a result of a few of his other successful niche websites. While this provided a substantial "pay raise", it still wasn't his primary goal as an entrepreneur - because consulting was still just building someone else's business.

And so began his career as a "dealmaker" - working with select partners to market his own products, as well as companies in which he was a partner or co-owner.

Chris had learned from his own business and consulting experience that the most powerful form of marketing was to form a creative partnership (joint venture) with another business. It was these sorts of partnerships that were responsible for every major success in any project that he'd previously undertaken.

JV-WEB will be continually adapted so as to improve the way it operates and help those that use its resources. But Chris's vision behind the project, which is to educate the business community about the true value of partnerships while creating a practical way for others to find JV partners, will never change.

Aside from business, Chris loves to longboard, surf and travel. And most of all, he loves to spend time with his girlfriend Sarah.
