Part 3: "Make Some REAL Money With Your Social Network" (One of these strategies is hardly ever used - and it's an absolute goldmine...) Page 1 of 2 Forget about making chump-change just by selling "impressions" - or even with Google Adsense (which is nice as "gravy" - but shouldn't be the foundation of your profit model)... You want a real profit model - one that is going to create at least a 6 or 7-figure income when it reaches its potential, depending of course on the size and affluence of your market. To do this, you will need to start looking at your social network as a business - not just "a site that makes money"... So perhaps the first thing you should consider is whether or not there is enough money in your niche - and enough people - to make it worth your while. A good way to guage this is simply to look at some of the larger companies in your market. - How "big" are they? - What did they earn last year (if they're public)? - How many clients or distribution points do they have? - How many magazines are in your niche - and how much are advertisers willing to spend in them? - How many potential users exist worldwide? If the companies are struggling to get by, if there's only one or two "indepnedant publishers", and if your niche is only comprised of a few thousand people... ...then you're probably aiming too small. Also - something else you need to consider is how affluent your market is. Are they rich? Poor? Middle-class? Here are some examples of some hyper-profitable markets that are just waiting to be dominated with a social network: (continued on page 2)
